La ruptura de la democracia en Chile debe ser leída, teniendo en consideración lo ocurrido a partir de los años 60. De este modo, cualquier intento de interpretación después de 1973 quedaría incompleto si no se conoce y comprende lo sucedido durante los años 60.

The strength of our society must be based on acknowledging its own history. Perhaps the social conduct that affects civilized coexistence most is political violence. The invocation of violence as a method of fighting to achieve a decisive political result is inherent to revolutionary doctrine. The breaking of democracy in Chile must be read, considering the events that started to occur in the 1960s. Thus, any intent of interpreting the years that followed 1973 would be incomplete if we do not know and do not understand what happened during the 1960s.
